God Helped Me Through Today

It was "the day of rest" according to Him, but I found mself doing the opposite. So, he grabbed a chair and sat right next to me. God helped me through the day-L.H.

"Do Not Worry About Your Life..."

"Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than birds? And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? If you then are not able to do the least, why are you anxious for the rest? Consider the lillies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all was glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith? And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. But seek the kingdom  of God, and all these things shall be added to you". Luke 12:22-31

I love the scriptures above because the Bible tell us not to worry (or be anxious). You may have fallen upon hard times and do not know when your next meal will be. You may not have many clothes, but in Luke Chapter 12, God reminds us that he will take care of us. In Genesis 1:26, the Bible says that God gives us "dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl in the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth". So, if God feeds the birds and the fish, then why wouldn't he feed us. This is another scripture that tells us that as long as we follow God, we do not need to be afraid.

"It is better to trust in the Lord than....

"God's Work" by L.H.

"It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man"- Psalms 118:8

When I woke up one morning and read Psalms 118:8, God placed it in my heart to write about it.
I know he must have a purpose for the the person or people reading this :-)

Psalms 118:8 highlights the fact that we should not put our confidence in ourselves or anyone else. When we accomplish a goal or make it through the day, we know that we made it through because of Him. It is not a result of our own strength. I believe that this also highlights Philipians 4:13 which states, "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me".
How many times have we relied on someone, and then they disappoint us. The Lord was there for me even when I could not turn to anyone. He was there during my good and bad times. This is why our faith is important. Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen". If it is the "evidence of things not seen", we know that our faith is the foundation by which the Lord works through.
In addition, Hebrews 10:35 reads "Cast not away therefore your confidence which hath great recompence of reward".  That means that we should "trust in the Lord" and hold onto our faith because He is going to bring us out. We will be better than we were when we entered the tribulation. James 1:2 tells us to "count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptation". The scripture continues in verse 3-4 " Knowing, that the trying of your faith works patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing".
The Lord continues to tell us to rely on Him and not man, throughout the bible. Proverbs 3:5 tells us to "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding." The chapter continues in verse 6 saying,"Acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He shall direct your paths". Many times we judge our situations by what we see or understand. But Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us that we do not know everything. God has a plan. We will be alright if we trust in Him and follow it.

I pray that this has encouraged and helped to lift your spirit. Love, peace, and happiness can be found in His word. When you are going through tough or easy times, remember Him and His words. Remember to rely on the Lord.
                                                                                              God is good :-)

"This is the day the Lord has made..."

ducks by the Mississippi River

"This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it". Psalms 118:24

I love the bible scripture located above because it give us the RIGHT  to enjoy the present. When I am having a good or bad day, I think about the scripture above and it makes me smile. I know that the Lord is present. Every morning that we wake up is a chance at better things. It is a chance to have a better relationship with Him.

Talent and Skill in God's Eyes

w
"And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and  to another one; to every many according to his several ability; and straightaway took his journey".Matthew 25:15

I have been thinking a lot about talents and skills or abilities, lately. God-given gifts or talents are the things that you were born performing well.  For example, there are people that learn how to sing. There are people that possess the ability to sing from birth. I always believed that gifts or talents were first place in God's eyes.
For example, let's say that I had the talent of writing from birth. But, I learned to draw later on. I believed that the writing was the most important thing.

I asked one of the ministers at my church. His response was that any talent or skill that glorifies God is a gift from God. That lesson was by Minister Dn. That is deep! lol. Everyone has those gifts or God-given purposes that God has provided for you to share with the world. Those are priority. But, he can also use your skills or learned abilities to serve his divine purpose.

What are your thoughts on this?

...because God is soooo good!

I was running late for work this morning. I spent an extra 20 minutes looking for my bus pass. But, guess what! I still made it to my bus on time because God is soooo good! I hope that you are having a great day. God is with you :-) Until next time... KinkyCurlyYoungLady
